THIS IS A RARE 55 CHEVY SHORT SHORTED NAPCO 4X4 1/2 TON 2ND SERIES
TRUCK BUT WITH 57 GRILLE AND FENDERS. THE NAPCO PARTS MAKE IT 4X4.
IN 1955 ON 2ND SERIES 3100 AND 3200 TRUCKS YOU COULD NOW ORDER YOUR
NEW TRUCK WITH THE DEALER ADDED 4X4 KIT BY NAPCO. THAT KIT CAME TO
THE DEALER IN A WOOD CRATE WITH OVER 1400 POUNDS OF CONVERSION
PARTS. NAPCO DESIGNED THE PARTS TO FIT WITH YOUR 2 WHEEL DRIVE
TRUCK AND MATCH THE GEARING. SO ALL THEY HAD TO DO WAS REMOVE THE
FRONT AXLE AND REPLACE IT WITH THE NAPCO AXLE. HANG THE TRANSFER
CASE TO THE REAR OF TRANSMISSION AND ADDING THE DRIVE SHAFTS
NEEDED. THEY ONLY HAD TO DRILL 4 HOLES AND CUT ONE HOLE FOR EXTRA
SHIFTER TO MAKE THIS SWAP. THESE WERE SOLD AS ON THE FLY 2 WH TO 4
WH SHIFTING. CHOICE OF LOCKOUTS OR NO LOCKOUTS. OK LET ME TELL YOU
ABOUT THIS TRUCK. THIS TRUCK HAD BEEN SITTING OVER 20 YEARS. WE PUT
IN A 60' 283 REBUILT A FEW YEARS AGO WITH MID SIZE RACE CAM AND
ADDED LIKE NEW HOLLEY 650 DP 4 BBL. HAS EXHAUST MANIFOLDS NAD DUAL
EXHAUST. SHE RUNS GREAT. THE 4 SPEED TRANS SHIFTS GOOD AND BELIEVED
TO BE ORIGINAL BY CASTING # 591953. REARED CASTING 3707340 IS
BELIEVED TO BE ORIGINAL TO THE TRUCK. THE NAPCO PARTS WE CANT SAY
ARE OR ARE NOT ORIGINAL TO THE TRUCK SINCE YOU COULD BY THE PARTS
FOR YEARS LATER AND INSTALL THEM. MAYBE OTHERS OUT THERE KNOW MORE.
WE DO KNOW THE PARTS ARE NAPCO BECAUSE THE TRANS FER CASE HAS A RED
TAG MARKED NAPCO AND SPICER WHO PARTNERED WITH THEM AND THE FRONT
AXLE CASE HAS NAPCO CAST ON THE FRONT, SEE PHOTOS. THE BODY IS
REALLY SOLID WITH ONLY HAVING A FEW PIN HOLES IN THE REAR PANELS OF
CAB CORNERS, A COUPLE TINY SPOTS ON REAR FENDERS AND A 1 INCH SPOT
WHERE RT FRONT FENDER ATTACHES TO UPPER GRILLE BRACE. THERE COULD
BE A COUPLE OTHER PIN HOLES BUT IT IS HARD TO FIND THESE ON
RESTORED IN THIS GOOD CONDITION. IT IS A LTTLE BEAT UP ON THE REAR
FENDERS BUT IF INTERESTED IN A NICE PAIR IN FIBERGLASS, I HAVE A
PAIR FOR ADDITIONAL 300.00. ONLY FOR THE BUYER OF TRUCK. I ALSO
HAVE A BRAND NEW IN BOX 55 GRILLE FOR 300.00 WE HAVE IT RUNNING AND
DRIVING TO WHERE ALL IT NEEDS TO BE STREET LEGAL IS REPLACE TURN
SIGNAL SWITCH, REPLACE CRACKED WINDSHIELD AND FIX HORN. ALSO NEEDS
LEFT TIEROD END ITS SLOPPY LOOSE. WE REPLACED NEW OR REBUILT THE
ORIGINAL BRAKE SYSTEM. GOT HEADLIGHTS, TAILLIGHTS, AND BRAKE LIGHTS
WORKING. THE ENGINE CLUTCH AND TRANS ALL GREAT. READY TO DRIVE AND
