For Sale: 1948 Ford Super Deluxe in Council Bluffs, Iowa

Vehicle Description

If you are looking for something different, this is your car.  This is a Chevrolet powered, Pro Street 1948 Ford Super Deluxe, tudor sedan, the only one I have ever seen.  My 1948 Ford came from Texas originally and I have had it for 19 years.  The front suspension is Mustang II and the Optima battery is in the trunk.  The engine is a 4 bolt main, 010 high nickel, Chevrolet 350, truck block bored .060, which makes it 360 cubic inches.  It was bored and honed with a torque plate, 9.6 to 1 compression ratio flat top pistons forged pistons, resized, magnafluxed, shot peened, Chevrolet "Pink" rods with ARP bolts.  The crank is forged steel and the reciprocating unit was balanced.  The cam is a "Big Mutha Thumpr" flat tappet Comp Cams unit with Patriot 2.02 X 1.60 aluminum heads and an Edelbrock dual quad intake with two 500 CFM Edelbrock carbs and fender well exit headers.  It has Harland Sharp roller rocker arms, a windage tray and a Pete Jackson gear drive.  The transmission is a Turbo 350 with a shift kit a 3,500 stall speed converter and the rear end is a 9 inch, 31 spline ford with 3.55 gears.  The rear was professionally back halved by Tilson Automotive in Plattsmouth Nebraska about 3 years ago.  The car has never been raced and I have never taken the engine over 6,000 RPMs  The paint is probably an 8 or 9, the trim is all nice and the car is very straight.  It has been rewired with an "EZ Wiring harness" it has a tilt steering wheel and it has a touch screen stereo with an amp.  Now for the bad:  The carpet should be replaced and the fuel gauge doesn't work.  The car has an aftermarket air conditioner that has been changed to R134, but it isn't hooked up.  To be honest, the air never worked that well, so I just never hooked up the wire.  The color is a 1996 Chevy color called Bahama Blue.  I am 68 years old and I am a retired police officer, so this car has not been abused in any way.  I just built it to look like a race car, but it isn't.  I also have photos of the engine as I built it, so if you need more photos let me know.    I will possibly trade for  muscle car or another hot rod
