A Toronto family purchased this spectacular Gullwing in 1957 and they owned it until 2006. In 2007, the second owner commissioned RM in Canada to do a frame off restoration of the great SL. This car was the perfect candidate for a restoration as it was always maintained, it had no collision damage and very little corrosion. They attended to all details and we have extensive photo history of the restoration on file. During it's re-birth, the SL's color combination was changed from its original red to black with red leather. An extremely sporty look and regal too...befitting a Gullwing. The car is now outfitted with belly pans, "Rudge-style" wheels and fitted black luggage. The 3rd owner debuted the restored SL at the 2012 San Marino Concours and it took Best in Class honors. Now, this 4 owner restored Gullwing shows just over 57,000 miles, barely used a few hundred miles in the past decade.
