1955 Crown Vic: Frame-off Restoration (Receipts & Pictures!)
Our customer wanted a like-new 1955 Ford Crown Victoria and so he chose an older restoration as the platform for a two-year frame-off restoration project. He contracted with a Pebble-Beach quality restoration shop who made his dream come true. Now, after several years of enjoyment, that frame-off, Torch Red and Snowshoe White car is available for purchase at a small fraction of its restoration costs. It is, simply put, one of the nicest Crown Vics you will find.
An Outstanding Car
This 1955 Crown Vic has been restored with such attention to detail that virtually every nut and bolt has been replaced or restored and is documented with a complete set of receipts as well as pictures of the restoration process. The car is equipped with:
Show-quality from Top to Bottom
The frame-off restoration of this Crown Vic in factory-correct Torch Red and Snowshoe White is of far superior quality to when it left the showroom in 1955.
The chrome and stainless trim is all in excellent condition, as is the iconic chrome roof band that distinguishes this model from all other cars of its era.
The underside is virtually show-quality clean without a hint of rust or corrosion.
The red and white vinyl interior is show-room fresh, as is the headliner.
All of the safety equipment (lights, wipers and horn) work properly. All of the gauges likewise are functioning. The clock, seemingly stuck in 1955, will need to be restarted.
The completely rebuilt Y-block 272 CID V-8 engine starts right up and runs properly.
The automatic transmission works smoothly, allowing one to enjoy all the compliments as you drive down the city streets without having to focus on shifting gears.
The power brakes work as they should to bring the car to a safe and straight stop.
All of the safety features (lights, signals, horn, wipers) of the Crown Vic work correctly as do the gauges and speedometer. The car is equipped with seat belts as well as a continental kit.
