Vehicle Description
1988 Pontiac Fiero GT
Italian for "very proud" the Fiero was produced by the Pontiac
Motor Division of General Motors from model year 1984 through 1988.
The mid-engine sports car was available with either a 2.5 liter
four-cylinder or a 2.8-liter V6. Engines were mounted transversely
and available with either automatic, 4-speed or 5-speed manual
transmissions. Depending on engine choice, the Fiero weighed in at
2460-2789 lbs. The V6 engine produced 43 more horsepower than the
entry level 4-cylinder power plant. The 1988 model utilized a
suspension similar to that utilized in the Lotus Espirit enhancing
the performance level of handling on the car.
Offered is the most desirable of all the Fieros produced, a 1988 GT
with a 2.8-liter V6 and 5-speed manual transmission. This wonderful
example was purchased from a local mechanic who specialized in high
end exotic cars and used this as his daily driver. It had just
28,389 miles when acquired from him and now has only 35,862
original miles on the odometer. Loaded with options, this GT has
vinyl seats that have been covered most of their life, tilt wheel,
power windows, power door locks, 5-speed manual transmission,
factory glass T-tops, cassette player air conditioning and
aftermarket alloy wheels. Overall a great collector sports car at a
very modest price and an absolute blast to drive.
