This is a very, very nice car. It was frame-off restored. The undercarriage, engine bay and trunk are every bit as nice as the exterior. Lots of effort was spent to recreate this car as close as possible to the way a 396 powered Sport Deluxe would have looked when new.
The 396 is properly adorned with the Canadian Pontiac decals. It has the proper cast iron exhaust manifolds. This car has power steering . The automatic transmission is the heavy duty Turbo 400.
The 12 bolt rear end has 3.73 gears and a positraction unit. It will lay two stripes of rubber with ease! The gearing makes the car very responsive and fun to drive.
When you get beneath the car, the suspension is all properly coated and has correct decals attached. You will find a new dual exhaust system containing Cherry Bomb mufflers. It is properly bent and exits as it should. It sounds throaty, yet is not offensive.
The proper Rally wheels have the correct Acadian hubcaps. The tires are new Redline radials of 225/70/14 size.
The trim tag shows the PNT as M-M. I find that to be Plum Mist. I believe the black vinyl top was added during restoration. The trim tag shows the TRM to be 859, which is the black imitation leather.
The finish is superb. It is a base coat-clear coat finish that gleams and reflects. I see no sign of body filler or rust. It is definitely show worthy.
The emblems, trim and chrome pieces are all very nice. It is all correct for the Sport Deluxe package.
The bucket seat with console interior is in very nice condition. The carpet and headliner are in good condition. The console contains a working clock. You will also find an original AM/FM stereo that works well. The dash includes a Tic-toc-Tach, which is not functional. I surprised to find a power trunk release.
This car is a favorite of mine. Probably because it is so rare to find one. I have never seen one is such great condition. I love the color. It is in fantastic condition. It took two years and a lot of discussion for it to come to me.
You will certainly enjoy this car. It is a great conversation piece that most will not recognize. It is in wonderful condition. Driving it is a great pleasure. It will be a struggle to stop!
