Vehicle Description
Classic Americana doesn't get much better than a first-year 1965
Ford Mustang all dressed in red. And because this V8 hardtop is a
memory-maker, you'll be glad it even comes with some interesting
paperwork.
When the lines are this iconic, you know you need to have a body
this straight. The long hood with aggressive overhang; the deep
C-channel that runs along the profile; and the sporty three-element
taillights that meet form-fitting chrome bumper - it's all what we
look for on the coupe that launched the legend. In fact, everything
looks correct on this one, right down to the factory wheel covers
with Mustang center caps. But there is also a little something
extra, too. The bold red paint was added later in life. So while
the Candy Apple hue still looks as American as apple pie, it has an
extra degree of luster that the factory could never deliver back
then.
A pristine black interior is always desirable in a classic, and
this one really goes the extra mile because the seat covers,
carpeting and dash have received recent investments. So nearly
everything you see and touch has been nicely refreshed. Your
position in the driver's bucket seat is exactly what you want in a
vintage coupe. Your left hand grips the three-spoke steering wheel
and your right one rests comfortably on the gearshift. The gauges
are crystal clear, and all the right original functions work such
as the heat/defrost controls. Even the original-style AM radio is
still cranking out tunes, so you truly have a great vintage
atmosphere.
The engine bay has some nice upgrades like the bright air topper
and matching valve covers. But just like the rest of this car,
you're going to really like it for its level of vintage appeal -
right down to the correct washer fluid bag. Plus, we know you'll
like that this C-code car correctly has Ford's trusty 289 under the
hood. The V8 still carries the correct two-barrel carburetor, which
goes nicely with the added growl of the newer dual exhaust. Add in
a three-speed automatic transmission for easy cruising, and this
pony car is a great anytime driving choice.
The vintage charm of this coupe is only amplified by the paperwork
that accompanies it. This includes the owner's manual, early
hand-written maintenance records, and the original temporary tag
for when it was sold new in '65. This '65 Mustang is exactly what
you want in a classic. So don't let it slip away, call today!
