1986 Dodge D-150 Short Wide Bed. 318, 904 3-speed automatic, 9-1/4 rear end (single track), tan interior, power steering, power brakes, electric windows, tilt wheel. Just re-painted the original maroon metallic but added the white on the sides. This is the cleanest rust free truck I have ever owned and so straight that I thought this would be the truck that deserves a complete re-paint. It came out flawless due to the great condition it was in. Reflex spray in bed liner finishes off the bed beautifully. Straight original bumpers, and all the chrome and trim is intact. New vinyl seat cover (custom stitched), new carpets, new window lift motors and all the gauges work accurately. No tears in the interior, no cracks in the dash. Tilt Steering column has been replaced and has the turn signal stalk for cruise but does not have cruise. Came with and has a standard AM radio that does not work. Additional sound and heat barrier was added before the carpet went in.
It was a very nice truck sold new in Oklahoma city to a man that lived in town and drove the truck as an every day driver, but not as a tool. The bed did not have any signs of use and the truck did not have any gravel road rash. Engine smoked only on start up and leaked oil so replaced the valve guide seals and valve cover gaskets (covers are now painted black and look nice). Thermostat, water pump, fan clutch and fan were upgraded and all the cooling system hoses were replaced. Oil pressure sending unit and temp sender replaced. All the smog pump and EGR system have been totally deleted correctly. The original ignition system has been replaced with a conventional Mopar electronic ignition system as well as an ignition system tune up. New master cylinder and power steering high pressure hose also replaced. Long story short--everything that could break or fail did so on me, and I fixed it how you would have, maybe better. If it didn't work right I scrapped it and upgraded it with factory systems that can be worked on. Still has the original single exhaust because it works good and has no problems. When I got it the a/c compressor was blowed up, and I replaced it. I did not evacuate the system or charge it. If you want it to work it needs a drier and the system flushed.
This is a great driving truck that looks like a million bucks and gets a positive response wherever you go. Nothing looks out of place or like it doesn't belong. Can be driven anywhere from here--no need to bring a trailer because I drive it every day and I dont like walking. This is the truck that replaced my 99 1500 for a shop truck. You can not build this truck for what it can be bought for done like it is.
