Vehicle Description
With an upgraded A/C interior, upgraded suspension, upgraded V8
power, and a terrific color combo, this 1940 Ford Deluxe
convertible makes quite an impact wherever it goes.
As you look over every inch, you're going to discover just how much
of a top-quality build this is. It's the kind of vehicle where all
the hard work has already been done correctly. The cream color has
deep shine and a great tone to appear almost porcelain-like, and at
the same time, it complements all the brightwork trim better than
white could. The combination of the two is best seen in the
profile. The straightness of the all steel body is seen in the
gloss of the paint, and the full-length trim appears like an
unbroken line. So this entire convertible is like a symphony -
individual elements are at their best, and the result is a
masterpiece. That last part might read like overindulgence, but
it's true. After all, when was the last time you saw a build that
used genuine iconic Halibrand wheels... and even the knock-off hubs
have a color-matched center.
Beneath the black electric folding roof is a terrific black
interior. At first, this might seem like a well-preserved
period-correct execution, but the longer you look at it, the more
impressive it gets. The supple black leather is trimmed with a
textured insert and exterior-matching cream piping. And this is
carried onto the door panels for a full uniform presentation. The
dual-spoke steering wheel looks authentic, except it feels like
it's brand new. And while the gauges look original, you might
remember that these Fords never need a 140 mph speedometer and
never had a tachometer. They even hid the modern AM/FM/CD stereo
with Bluetooth as well as the R134a air conditioning system. That
makes for a very comfortable custom convertible that never betrays
its vintage atmosphere.
Grab your sunglasses before opening the hood. The Chevy 350 V8 has
been given plenty of shine with the air topper, valve covers,
intake, compressor, alternator, brackets pulleys, and plenty of
other components given a mirror-like polish. And with the wires
hidden and the smooth firewall, we bet you'll win awards just for
the engine bay. Beyond the flash, you'll find the substance of a
ZZ3 performance crate motor that has been further enhanced with an
Edelbrock four-barrel carburetor and ceramic-coated headers. This
well-built V8 makes a nice rumble out of the dual exhaust. Plus, as
you look through the undercarriage photos, you'll be happy to see
upgrades like performance-spec Heidts independent front suspension
with tubular A-arms and QA1 adjustable coilovers. Plus, there's
power steering, front disc brakes, and stabilizer bars front &
rear. Add in the TH350 three-speed automatic transmission with
strong Currie 9-inch rear and versatile 3.53 gears, and you soon
realize this award-worthy build is also a great anytime/anywhere
cruiser.
