Vehicle Description
Meet the new king of the cruise-in night. This 1976 Cadillac
Fleetwood Brougham is one of the longest sedans Cadillac ever sent
out into the world. With such a low-mileage, loaded A/C interior,
and well preserved/maintained presentation, you'll instantly
understand why long and low classic Caddys are always in
demand.
The Fleetwood Brougham was about being the top of the top. It not
only announced you could afford a Caddy, but also be a part of the
upper echelon within this very premium brand. So we're so glad to
see this period of opulence correctly represented today. Calumet
Cream is a terrific 1970s-style color. It has a particularly nice
luster today thanks to a respray within the last five years. The
dark brown vinyl roof completes this the package from a time when
earth tones were the coolest. Originally, the extra-long sleek
lines announced to the world you were enough of a big shot to take
up acreage on the highway. Today, this premium sedan has matured
into a stylish reputation in the market where it looks authentic
right down to the perfect plastic fender end-caps (not many
survived on these Caddys.) Plus, all the bright work details you
want are correct. This includes the large front bumper with its
bold arrow pointing forward, the imposing grille, turbine-style
wheel covers, trim on the rear fender skirts, and the upright rear
light housing that gave these Cadillacs a hint of the iconic tail
fin.
The 40,829 miles on this car are believed to be original, and a
quick look at the interior will convince you of this easy life. In
fact, this car spent most of its life with one owner, and it was so
well maintained, his widow sold it back to the original dealer. The
interior has been extraordinarily well preserved, and even the wood
applique trim on dash, door panels, and steering wheel look
terrific. The leather seats have the kind of comfort of pillow-top
armchairs. Plus, you have fold down arm rests so you can decide if
you want to bring along all your family and friends in comfort, or
just give a few of the right people personal luxury space. Besides
just the room to relax, this Caddy has plenty of comfort for the
driver with features like power seats, power windows, tilt wheel,
power locks, electric rear defrost, and cruise control. The air
conditioning has even been converted to R134a so you can truly
cruise in comfort.
1976 was the last year for the monstrous 500 cubic-inch V8 motor.
Not only do get the pride of the largest engine ever installed in a
Caddy, but also this is the original motor to the car. Emission
regulations of that era had started to take out some of the
horsepower, but this Caddy has no trouble moving because it still
makes about as much torque as a modern V8 Chevy truck! The cruising
attitude is heightened by a smooth-shifting three-speed automatic
transmission, and a ride that can only come from a classic Caddy.
Add in power steering and front disc brakes, and this is the large
classic that's still effortless to drive in the modern world.
This well preserved and low mileage classic also comes with the
right paperwork, such as the owner's manual and maintenance
records. So when something this grand is also so affordable, you
know you need to hurry if you want to take it home. Call now!
