Vehicle Description
Only 7,956 actual miles on this true barn find. It has been stored
in the same spot since 1971. Just recently it had seen the first
light of day in 47 years. The oil change sticker is from 1967
showing 7,897 miles. Great photos documenting it's awaking from
hibernation. The dust was so thick you couldn't see through the
glass. A woman bought the car new. Her family has owned a business
for many decades that builds metal silos. They built a building
using metal silos that the car,was stored in. A very excited
collector heard of the car and bought it. He had it towed to a shop
where it was brought back to life while trying to preserve as much
of its originality as possible. The motor was stuck so he had it
completely rebuilt. He was lucky to find a complete NOS exhaust
with resonator. Brakes were redone. Radiator had to be replaced and
was upgraded with an aluminum one. The tires are original! Has
original spiral shocks. The body was mint, no rot or damage. The
exterior was repainted it's original color, jambs are original.
Chrome is original and shows its age. The interior is completely
original and I consider it mint condition. There was a tissue box
in the back seat with a price tag- 17 cents! The seats are still
firm, upholstery is excellent. Trunk compartment is a time capsule,
it looks new. The original jack and spare have never been used.
Motor compartment is cleaned like new. Engine was painted correct
color when rebuilt. The 57 Buick is a very stylish handsome car.
Being a hardtop without the post it's very desirable. They are only
original once!
