To commemorate what was thought to be the final year of the Camaro,
Chevrolet produced the very special 35th Anniversary Camaro SS
Limited Edition that became instant collector items. This example
is just one of only 934 coupes made with the automatic transmission
and removable roof panels. Further enforcing its rarity is that
this Camaro was treated to multiple GMMG upgrades, the most
impressive being the Phase III 427 cubic inch Corvette C5R LS6
engine conversion that propelled the power level to a
conservatively rated 600 horsepower. Also included in the $32K GMMG
buildup were custom headers, exhaust cutouts, 3:73 rear end gears,
Art Carr 4L60 transmission, Yank torque converter and a Corvette
front brake upgrade kit. This historical Camaro comes with a bevy
of supporting documentation including the original GM Window

St. Therese GM assembly plant on February 27, 2002. From there it
was sent to SLP Engineering where it was up-fitted with a host of
performance upgrades, then on to CMMG Inc., in Marietta, GA where
the big performance changes were made. It was sold new by City
Chevrolet in Charlotte, NC (Rick Hendrick's flagship store), on
April 26, 2002 and added to the Hendrick Collection where it has
been proudly displayed alongside many other significant Chevrolet
