The Jaguar E-type was introduced to the public in 1961 and continued in several variants until 1975. It was initially shown as a two-seater fixed head coupe and also as a two-seater convertible. The latter model became known as a roadster and was by far the most popular of the models that Jaguar manufactured at the time. In 1971 through 1974 Jaguar introduced the series three cars which featured a 5.3-litre v12 engine and either a 3 speed automatic or 4-speed manual gearbox. The car came in both coupe and convertible versions. Interior cockpit space was increased by extending the vehicle wheelbase. Aside from extra legroom for front seat occupants the driver’s footwell was also enlarged offering greater comfort.
The car we are offering is a two owner car which was bought by the present owner 8 years ago and in that time has only accumulated two thousand miles (this owner also has a second XKE sharing his garage). Total mileage since new is 20,003.
The car is painted British Racing green and has a black leather interior. Original 4-speed manual transmission and air conditioning. The car is fitted with the earlier thin bumpers with over-riders front and rear, improving the car’s great overall appearance.
The car has been routinely serviced without regard to cost. In addition to regular maintenance, the seats have been recovered, a new soft top fitted, and the trunk re-trimmed. A boot cover for the soft top is also included.
