V8 250hp/378lb-ft of torque engine sporting 2bbl carburetor and backed by a Multi-Drive Merc-O-Matic 3-spd automatic transmission.Featuring; 4105-lb curb weight, independent front suspension, power brakes, power steering, 14" wheels w/ whitewall tires, original hubcaps, black vinyl seats w/ black cloth inserts, originally silver turquoise, 2-owner car, over $17k invested in the paint job, exterior bright-work restored, original owner's manual and owners card, and original build sheet. Registrations from 1964-1999 on file.The 1964 Mercury Monterey was introduced in 1961 based on a Ford body that was similar to that of the Thunderbird but distinct enough that no one outside of the plant making the car could tell it shared the Ford design, which was a positive for Mercury. Overall the car shrunk in size compared to previous model year Mercury's as the general public was looking for smaller vehicles. 1963 came around and the car had undergone a few more changes that prominently featured a new roofline and a widely popular reverse slant window with a power option to move it up or down.
