1958 Oldsmobile Super 88 finished in Gold with Bronze/White
interior. Odometer shows 69,068 miles. Powered by the famous
371c.i. "Rocket" V8 producing 312hp/415lb-ft of torque and sporting
an optional "J2" 3x2bbl carburetor set-up. All of this power was
backed by a Jetaway Hydra-Matic 4-speed automatic transmission.This
classic consists of; dual exhaust, Air conditioning, power
steering, power brakes, dual power antennas, Bronze pearl vinyl
seats w/ivory vinyl inserts, AM radio, analog clock, tinted glass,
3,997-lb curb weight, standard independent front suspension, 15"
wheels w/ wide whitewall tires, wire hubcaps, satellite radio
add-on, aftermarket 3-gauge cluster, exterior bright-work restored,
and rebuilt power steering system.The Oldsmobile Super 88 was
redesigned for 1957 and again underwent some body changes in 1958.
1957 introduced the famous "Rocket" V8 with this specific example
featuring the "J2" option which added triple carburetors and a
higher compression ratio that resulted in a more powerful 312hp
version over the standard V8. All of the redesign work that went
into the Super 88 was done one year ahead of its competitors in
Chevrolet and Pontiac which led to a lot of success for Oldsmobile.
Of the redesign for 1958 over 1957, the body was larger and the
headlamps went from two to four. The Super 88 is still one of the
