For Sale: 1949 Ford Woody Wagon in Bedford Heights, Ohio

Vehicle Description

The 1949 models debuted at a gala at the Waldorf-Astoria Hotel in New York City in June 1948, with a carousel of the new Fords complemented by a revolving demonstration of the new chassis. The new integrated steel structure was advertised as a "lifeguard body", and even the Woody wagon was steel at heart. The convertible frame had an "X member" for structural rigidity.

This 3 seat Woody was found in a gas station in Santa Ana, CA and had not been reg. since 1967. It was restored by Danny Meyers in 2008 and only driven 2,000 miles since then. The body was walnut shell blasted and all the wood is original except for three pieces. The gauges and the steering wheel are all original.

There’s a 12-volt system with vintage heat and air conditioning, power steering and automatic transmission. An AM/FM and CD player have been installed under the seat. All holes in the firewall have been filled and detailed. All the chrome has been replaced along with new tinted window glass and rubber molding. The spare tire comes with a cover. The interior carpeting is Mercedes wool and all 3 seats have been expertly reupholstered in leather. New shocks and exhaust system along with a new gas tank have been added. This Woody has power disc brakes in the front and rear drum brakes ensuring it will stop on a dime. It has a new 350 Chevy small block with positraction.

You don't have to be a fan of the Beach Boys to be nostalgic about this ride. While it may bring back fond memories for some who were around in the '50s, anyone would be proud to own this car.  You are guaranteed to meet people when you drive this beautiful 1949 Woody wagon. Everywhere you go, people will gather to check it out and ask questions. Though the stunning body on this wagon is over 65 years old, this professionally built hot rod has just a little over 2,000 miles since its frame off restoration.
