Ever think about owning a Bondmobile? What about the car from the
1997 James Bond film, "The World Is Not Enough?" We have a copy of
that iconic BMW Z8 Roadster here at MotoeXotica Classic Cars, minus
the gadgets from Q Branch, of course. With only 16,000 miles on the
clock in 17 years! The original Kentucky owner had this Z8 for 11
years and had itregularly serviced at Moses BMW of Saint Albans
West Virginia. Dressed in Titanium Silver Metallic (code 354), this
example was made in Munich, Germany on December 6, 2000 and was one
of 970 sold in the US in 2001. It left the factory with the
following options - six compact disc changer, cupholders and
obsolete BMW Startec flip phone that is still hooked up in its
factory location. The paint and trim are in overall excellent shape
and very impressive for a 16 year old masterpiece! The droptop's
windows, including the rear window with electric defroster, are
clear and free of cracks. The under body is very tidy and detailed
without road grime. This car rolls on Bridgestone Potenza radials,
size 245/45ZR18, surrounding factory five-spoke alloy wheels. The
tires and wheels are in excellent overall condition. This Bimmer's
bodywork is straight and solid, the engine bay is exceptionally
tidy, the bumpers fit tightly to the body and the cargo area is in
great shape. This Z8 was shipped with a color-matching metal
hardtop with rear window defroster. Unlike many accessory hardtops,
which are provided for practical rather than stylistic
considerations, the Z8 hardtop was designed from the start to
complement the roadster's lines. The Z8 has an all-aluminumchassis
and body and used a 4.9L 32-valve DOHC V-8 with variable valve
timing and 11.0:1 compression ratio that developed 400 horsepower
and 370lbs-ft of torque. The engine was located behind the front
axle in order to provide the car with 50/50 weight distribution.
Buttoned to the engine is a six-speed manual transmission. Driver
convenience features include air-conditioning, cruise control,
power steering, power four-wheel disc brakes, power windows, power
mirrors, power locks and power seats. The factory claimed a
0-62mph time of 4.7 seconds;Motor Trendmagazine achieved
0-60mph in 4.2 seconds.Road & Track magazine measured the car's
lateral grip at .92g.Car and Drivermagazine also tested the car
and found that it outperformed the contemporary benchmarkFerrari
360 Modenain three important performance categories:
acceleration, handling and braking. As with most BMW products, the
car's top speed was electronically limited to 155.4mph. Inside,
the car's black Nappa Leather interior (code P1SW) is in overall
excellent condition. The bucket seats and carpet look fantastic and
the headliner is in great shape. The car's black-and-silver
instrument panel, with its full instrumentation canted toward the
driver, mirrors the condition of the rest of the interior. The
three-spoke steering wheel, inner door panels and center console
are all in the same fantastic condition. The mirror glass is in
great shape while the shift lever still looks new. A factory AM/FM
stereo with CD player is hidden behind a moveable panel on the
center stack. To keep the interior uncluttered, a number of
convenience functions were integrated into multi-function controls.
For example, the power windows and mirrors were controlled by a
single instrument. Competition to this BMW in 2001 included Aston
Martin's DB7 Vantage Volant, Chevrolet's Corvette Convertible,
Ferrari's 360 Spider, Honda's S2000 Roadster, Mazda's Miata,
Mercedes-Benz's SL500 and Porsche's 996 Convertible. Documentation
includes original owner's manual and clean CarFax dated April 2017
as well as the factory tool kit, car cover, wind deflector, soft
top boot, hardtop cover. This car is currently located at our
facility in St. Louis, Missouri. Current mileage on the odometer
shows 16,150 miles. It is sold as is, where is, on a clean and
clear, mileage exempt title. GET OUT AND DRIVE!!! PLEASE CLICK HERE
