This 1955 Ford F100 is a beautiful restoration completed 2 years ago by a guy who has a true passion for these trucks and restored 22 of them. This was a frame off restoration starting with an original cab from an 11,500 miles Fire truck. Doors and grille are from the original truck and front fenders are oem steeel fenders and rear fenders were also replaced with steel fenders. This is an all-steel truck with an impressive body and an even more impressive drive train. Much effort and expense was gone through to keep this classic truck all Ford.
Body is extremely straight and body panel is excellent overall. Doors open and shut with ease and line up beautfiully. He chose a great Ford Color, Calypso Coral which is more orange then red and really pops on this truck. Gorgeous custom pin striping was laid down by Conwways Customs. New bed and beautiful bed floor was installed and fuel tank located under the bed with billett fuel filler door neatly done in the bed. New Ford original style steel running boards were installed. New front and rear bumpers were neatly tucked closer to the body then original for a cleaner look. Overall paint quality is excellent with some minor blems that can only be seen on close inspection and a few minor paint chips that have been touched up. All of the glass was replaced with new and weatherstripping was all replaced at time of restoration. This truck was built to drive and has been driven and enjoyed over the past 2 years. It has also made many show appearances where it has won its share of trophies.
Custom black interior compliments the Calypso Coral exterior. Super comforatable bench seat with a fold down arm rest is adjustable as well. Custom door panels and headliner to match. Rubber floor mat with custom F100 carpet floor mats. Flaming river tilt steering column with Billet Steering wheel. Gauge cluster is an original restored cluster and Speedometer was calibrated and reads accurately. Fuel gauge and oil pressure both work correctly. Additional gauges were installed in the drop dash and a tach was added on the column. Ice cold A/C and hot heat from Vintage Air neatly installed. Modern stereo system with power antennae and speakers in the kick panels and behind the seat sounds great. Power windows work great. Push button start. Lokar Automatic shifter and Lokar emergency brake lever neatly mounted. All New wiring throughout this beautiful truck so everything works perfectly. The list goes on and on and the interior looks like new!
Keeping it all Ford, a ground pounding 390 FE V8 was completely rebuilt by Leggett Engineering and bored .030 over. New Edelbrock Aluminum heads, Performer intake and Edelbrock 750 Carburetor. A set of 406 Shorty exhaust manifolds breathe out the 2 1/2" custom exhaust that delivers that sweet mucle truck tone. This baby runs on pump gas easily and starts up with the push of a button thanks to the MSD distributor and high torque starter. Custom fabricated fan shroud and rebuilt stock radiator keep this F100 running cool. Billett Aluminum Pulleys for the CVF Chrome power steering pump and chrome alternator. Front end is a Ford Crown Victoria Independent Front Suspension with sway bar. Handling is fantastic thanks to the power steering and tight suspension. Rear end is a Ford 9" with 3.25 highway friendly gears. Rear suspension is a no limit 4 link with coil overs. This baby stops on a dime with power front disc brakes and all new rear drums. Everything throughout the braking and suspension system was brand new at time of restoration 2 years ago. Great stance with the painted 17" smoothie wheels wrapped in like new BFG Radials. There is an estimated 5000 miles on this truck since the completion and it runs and drives amazingly!! The engine bay has been neatly detailed and topped off with a classic style air cleaner that was custom painted for the aded wow factor at shows. Undercarriage is rust free and nicely detailed as well.
This is a very high quality truck that was built to be driven and enjoyed. Although not flawless, it will be welcomed at any local car show and crusie in and will still win its share of trophies. Best of all it is a truck you can get in and drive and enjoy...she runs a s good if not better than she looks!!!
