Motorcar Studio is pleased to offer this custom, pro-touring style
1966 Buick Skylark. It's nice to see some liberties taken with the
often overlooked Chevelle sibling that shares the A-body platform,
and this very clean build shows a hint of Buick class that's
missing from the Chevrolet nameplate. The satin two-tone paint
accentuates the clean design and the Coys 20-inch wheels wearing
fat Z-rated rubber sets the tone for the whole build. The interior
is all about clean design with a custom dash holding all new gauges
and hidden switchgear for lights and wipers. The comfortable and
grippy seats are from a Cadillac CTS-V and the power functions are
operational.
It's obvious just from looking at this Skylark that its not your
grandfather's Buick, but when you pop the hood and see (or hear!)
the 540 Merlin big block V8 you know this car means business. The
builder spent money in all the right places with an Edlebrock
intake, Quickfuel carb, aluminum radiator, electric cooling fan,
Holley electric fuel pump, Hooker long-tube headers, flow master
exhaust and more. Power is transferred through a Tremec 5-speed
manual and a Ford 9-inch with 3:73 gears. Hotchkis suspension
components aid the ride and giant 4-wheel disk brakes haul it down.
Despite the big Z-rated rubber the Merlin V8 makes so much power
that it will light up the tires at will. This Skylark was just
serviced by the owner's mechanic and is ready to show or go for the
next owner.
