Gateway Classic Cars welcomes this GM legend, a beautiful 1969
Buick GS Stage I! The stage' was set by several manufacturers in
1969, the midst of the performance car war that raged fiercely both
on and off the track. Buicks were certainly not considered as the
favorite brand by performance enthusiasts as GM cousins Chevrolet,
Oldsmobile and Pontiac were on the front lines with big engines
like the 396 and the W30 package. Starting a year earlier, the
Buick Parts Department sought to address this issue with its
offering of two tuning stages that could be more competitive on the
strip. Enter the Stage I and II which embodied different levels of
performance. The Stage I gave you more horsepower and an upgraded
carburetor, fuel pump, high-lift crankshaft and heavy-duty valves
springs. This 1969 GS Stage I has all those goodies and features
the sleek redesign of the model year including a new grille and a
sporty hood design featuring a power bulge with two louvered scoops
that allow air to get to that hungry carb! The Stage I became an
official option in 1969 with the headliner being the 400 CID V8
rated at 345 horsepower! This Buick rumbles with the
numbers-matching engine and automatic transmission and smoothly
launches thanks to a posi-rear 3.64 gears. Wearing beautiful
Burgundy Mist PPG paint and topped with a manual black top, this
sporty classic is ready to ride and look good while doing it! Open
the doors to reveal a crisp black vinyl interior with bucket seats
and spacious interior. Wrap your hands around the sport steering
wheel and easily shift with a familiar GM horseshoe shifter!
Everything on this beauty has been gone through properly and the
only thing you need to do is enjoy it! It's not often you see
complete examples of Buick's performance vehicles, so act quickly
so this GS doesn't slip away! Additional features include Air
Conditioning, AM/FM Radio, Power Brakes, Power Steering, Power
Windows, Tilt Wheel and Seat Belts. To view this 1969 Buick Gran
