Gateway Classic Cars welcomes this beautiful 1987 Chevrolet El
Camino to our Philadelphia showroom. The 1987 El Camino does not
have the reputation for performance that its earlier models were
known for. That can't be said about this El Camino. It has a 1971
LT1 under the hood and it is built for performance. It is .30 over,
4-bolt main with steel crank and 2.02 heads. The list of upgrades
includes Roller Rockers, NEI ignition, aluminum intake, Holley
carburetor and Hooker Headers. The turbo 350 transmission is
equipped with a 2700 Stall convertor and passes the power to an
Auburn Posi traction unit with 3:42 gears. The suspension has been
refurbished with new ball joints, tie rods, center link, idler arm,
pitman arm, and even a new steering box. The exterior was finished
in base coat / clear coat two years ago. It is still in excellent
condition. The interior has been upgraded with new carpeting, two
tone seat covers, headliner, and even new visors. A set of Cragar
SS wheels wrapped in BFG radials give it a clean classic look. To
