The Camaro ZL1 was born in 1969, when enterprising dealers used Chevrolet’s COPO special-order system to create racing-intended models powered by an aluminum 427 Big Block engine. The new Camaro ZL1 challenges the most advanced sports coupes in the world, with unprecedented levels of technology, refinement, track capability and straight-line acceleration. Powered by the LT4 supercharged 6.2L V-8 engine rated at 650 hp, and either a six-speed manual transmission with Active Rev Match or a 10-speed paddle-shift automatic. The 10-speed paddle-shift automatic offers faster upshifts than the Porsche PDK transmission and features a wide, 7.39 overall ratio spread. Handling capability starts with the lightweight, stiff structure of the Gen Six Camaro, married with specially calibrated Magnetic Ride suspension and an electronic limited-slip differential. The Camaro ZL1 features unique 20-inch forged aluminum wheels with 285/30ZR20 front and 305/30ZR20 rear tires. Goodyear Eagle F1 Supercar tires with a compound and construction developed exclusively for the Camaro to offer exceptional grip on the track. The new Zl1 also features Brembo brakes with six-piston monobloc front calipers – featuring the ZL1 logo – and massive, 15.35-inch two-piece front rotors. Standard Recaro front seats, along with a sueded flat-bottom steering wheel and shift knob. Chevrolet’s Performance Data Recorder is available. Chevrolet MyLink with an 8-inch-diagonal color touchscreen is standard and features Apple CarPlay and Android Auto phone projection compatibility. To keep things safe a hot of safety equipment is standard including standard air bags include dual-stage frontal, thorax side-impact and knee air bags for the driver and front passenger. Coupe models also include head curtain side-impact air bags. Rear Park Assist, Rear Cross-Traffic Alert and Side Blind Zone Alert with Lane Change Alert, in addition, rear-vision camera, StabiliTrak electronic stability control system and Front safety belt pretensioners to name a few.
This particular example has just 589 very careful miles from new. It is equipped with the optional navigation system and the performance data recorder as well as the performance enhancing 10 Speed Automatic transmission. In addition over $3000 was spent for a professionally installed clear protectant film over the front to the car to protect from rock chips and road debris. A custom black wrap was installed on the roof and top of the spoiler to tie together the black accents on the car as well as changing the exhaust tips to black to further enhance the look. Having been regularly detailed it is in better than new condition. It is in the wrapper as they say. It comes with all of its original books, both keys and the original window sticker.
