Vehicle Description
Here's your opportunity at modern muscle car royalty. This 1993
Pontiac Firebird Firehawk is a survivor-style, ultra-low mileage
example of a rare specialty vehicle. So it's impressive that this
loaded sleek machine is available for such an obtainable price.
This is the first-year for the fourth-generation Firebird, and the
speed demons at SLP Engineering wasted no time in getting a hotter
version out there. They worked in conjunction with Pontiac to sell
the limited-edition Firehawk through dealers. The promotions said
they were only making 250 examples, but the actual number is
believed to be barely over 200. That makes this coupe (#150 - as
noted by its badge) an instant classic. That's why it has been
treated with respect since day one. The Bright Red paint is the
same that was applied by the factory a quarter-century ago, and the
level of gloss and shine it retains will fill you with pride every
time you show this one off. The panels remain nice, and so you get
to appreciate the sleek fourth-gen front end, hidden headlights,
and the special air-grabbing hood by SLP. Plus, the cursive yellow
script on every side was a nice touch to remind everyone about this
special package. The Firehawk took its performance name seriously
with upgraded 17-inch Firehawk alloys and grippy Firestone Firehawk
tires.
Inside, the tan and black offer equal parts performance and
premium. Averaging less than 390 miles annually means little time
to wear-in the leather bucket seats, so they still look fantastic
today. These SLP cars only came one way - loaded. It includes
features such as power seats, power windows, power locks, keyless
entry, tilt wheel, cruise control, and the factory AM/FM/cassette
stereo with five-channel equalizer. Because this is a survivor, all
of these look great and work correctly. The only upgrade is one you
won't see, but you'll certainly appreciate - the air conditioning
has been upgraded to R134a for continued easy servicing. Beyond
just luxury features, a modern classic also means modern safety,
too. So you get items like dual front airbags and anti-lock
brakes.
Under the hood is the LT1 fuel-injected V8 that this special
edition has always had from day one. In fact, the entire engine bay
looks like a fresh time capsule. You might have spotted the
additions that SLP has done under the hood. Getting colder air into
the engine bay meant the power went from 275 to 300 hp total. GM's
700R4 four-speed automatic was built stout enough to crisply change
gears during performance driving, and it also knows how to ease
into overdrive comfort for the commutes. Plus, features like power
steering, four-wheel disc brakes, and thick sway bars front & rear
make for an impressive total package.
Because this is a true collector-grade survivor, you also get all
the right paperwork with the sale, including the original window
sticker, bill of sale, owner's manual, and maintenance records. So
you know this rare first-year Firehawk has been treated with proper
respect from day one. That's why you know it will never last long
at such an affordable price. Call now!
