Vehicle Description
One of the last of the breed, this low mileage, all original, WS6
Trans Am, is packed with as many go-fast parts as Pontiac could put
into it to make this one potent machine. But then they added the
removable T-tops and made sure that you would be comfortable too,
maybe while traveling, or maybe while you were stalking lesser
cars.
Black on black, with the only polished metal being the special WS6
wheels, this car looks pretty intimidating. Up front, of the car
reaches for the ground, splitting the air out of the way as it
rolls, but directing some of it up to the Ram Air intakes on the
hood to generate a few more horsepower. Attention to aerodynamics
continues with vents in the front fenders that allow brake cooling
air to escape, and ground effects skirts down the side keep
pressure from building up underneath the car. The steeply raked
windshield leads back over the tinted T-tops, which are removable
if you desire wind in the hair cruising, and the rear deck has the
sweetest rear spoiler to ever grace the back of a car. The look at
the back is completed by a honeycomb rear light assembly with a red
Firebird and Trans Am in the center, and WS6 badge on the
right.
Step into the cockpit of this machine and settle into the black
leather bucket seats. They are fully adjustable, power operated,
and can be set up perfectly for spirited driving or long-distance
cruising. You will notice that there are all the comfort and
convenience items you would expect in a top of the line model,
including power windows, locks, tilt wheel, and cruise control. The
contoured, leather wrapped steering wheel feels good in your hands,
and all the critical gauges are clustered together, visible at a
glance through the wheel. Ventilation controls and the stereo are
in the center of the dash, just above the T-handle shifter for the
four-speed trans. Back seats offer the flexibility to bring friends
with you on cruise night, or to be folded down to extend the hatch
area. If you wish to cruise with the T-tops out, they can be
stashed in the hatch for easy access in case it starts raining, or
to make the car secure.
"Trans Am" and "WS6" both mean that the best power and handling
capabilities available were built into this car at the factory. A
potent Corvette LS1 5.7-Litre motor was selected, and then the
power boosted even further by the Ram Air intake system and
performance exhaust so that it ultimately generates 320 HP, and it
makes sweet sounds doing it. It is an all-aluminum engine, so it
helps the handling characteristics of the car by lightening it up
by its very nature. It runs the power back through a 4- speed
automatic more than capable of handling it reliably, and then the
chassis engineers took over the further development of the car.
They started by adding big 4-wheel disc brakes to reign in the
horses after you let them run. Then they tuned the springs, shocks,
and sway bars as a total package to make the car stick like glue in
the turns and to be stable at speed, but to still provide a
surprising level of comfort.
This car all stock, original, neat and clean, with maintenance
records and factory build sheet available. Call or come down and
check out this awesome car. Then take it home and out on the prowl
some night.
