1968 Shelby GT350 Convertible. In 1968 a total of 4,451 Shelby
Mustangs were produced for the model year. It also marked the year
that Ford took over production of the Shelby vehicles with
operations moving to Livonia, Michigan from California. The styling
changes for 1968 were minor with the front of the vehicle restyled
resulting in more aggressive appearance. The headlights switched
back to the single seven-inch unit configuration with Lucas fog
lamps positioned inside the grill. The hood was once again a
fiberglass unit with repositioned scoops and air-extraction
louvers. According to the Marti Report, this 1968 Shelby GT350
Convertible rolled off the line on April, 4, 1968 in its factory
Highland Green finish. �It is powered by a numbers matching 302-4V
V8 GT350 engine and upgraded 4 speed manual transmission. This
would be 1 of the only 404 total Shelby GT350 Convertibles that
would be produced in 1968, indeed making this a very rare and
collectible car. �It left the factory with a list of various
options that include: Shoulder Harness, Power Top, Glass Backlight,
The Extra Cooling Package, Power Disc Brakes, Power Steering,
Tilt-Away Steering Wheel, AM Radio, The Interior D�cor Group,
Visibility Group, Heavy Duty Battery, Tachometer, Trip Odometer,
Front and Rear Bumper Guards, and Wheel Lip Moldings. This GT350
has had the benefit of a complete no expense spared nut and bolt
rotisserie restoration that has made this Shelby into an
exceptional example. It was refinished in it factory Highland Green
paint which has been wet sanded and polished to a show ready
finish. The beautiful paint is complemented by a new deluxe black
interior and black power convertible top. The undercarriage is
absolutely immaculate and looks just how it would have rolled off
the assembly line almost 50 years ago, with factory correct paint
dabs, tags, markings, body color overspray on top of the factory
red oxide primer. To say that this Shelby looks great is an
understatement. This GT350 Convertible is in absolutely gorgeous
condition and is indeed rare due to its low production numbers for
