1989 Mercedes-Benz 560SL Roadster finished in unique Desert Taupe

from new. Fantastic overall rust free example that was delivered
new at Aristocrat Motor Company in Shawnee, Missouri and has
resided in the Seattle area since 1997.The styling of the 107
chassis SL's was the beginning of a new "modern" look for Mercedes,
rather than accentuating stacked headlights and vertical lines as
designers had done since the 1950s, the new SL emphasized
horizontal ones. Wider stances and lower overall height were
accentuated with aerodynamically smoothed contours. As it had since
the first gullwing 300SL the "SL" badge designated both "S"port and
"L"ight. The 560SL was introduced in 1986 to the US market and
remained through the 1989 model year. Most notable amongst the
changes was the introduction of a 5.6L V8 and the 4-Speed Automatic
Transmission. Other changes consisted of new aerodynamic 15-inch
alloy wheels, a third trunk-mounted brake light, a lower front
plastic air dam, standard built-in alarm systems and a limited-slip
rear axle formerly not available on U.S. 107s.New standard features
came about with the 1989 560SL that consisted of; New Rear
Suspension, Limited Slip Differential, Anti-Lock Brakes, Leather
Seats, Alarm System, Central Power Locking, Power Windows, Electric
Rear Window Defroster, Heated Windshield Washer Nozzles, Heated
Outside Mirrors, AM/FM Stereo with Cassette, Cruise Control,
Automatic Climate Control, Power Brakes, and Power SteeringIncluded
