For Sale: 1968 Volkswagen Type 2 Bus in Grand Rapids, Michigan
With all the negative nuclear vibes out there, we all need a
reminder. Just some peace and love, man, offered in this awesome
1968 Volkswagen Type 2 Bus. Positive vibes only, guaranteed. Drive
this baby up to any stop light and you'll only see smiles and
thumbs up.
This super clean 1968 example spent majority of its life on Beaver
Island in Northern Michigan. They don't salt the roads on the
island (regardless, it was never driven in the winter), which is
why theres no rust. The bus is finished in green with white trim
and white seats. It is powered by a newer VW 2.0L (2005cc)
Air-Cooled 4-Cylinder motor with less than 10k miles on it. This
rear-mounted, efficient engine creates lots of power, allowing the
bus to travel 70-plus mph on the highway with ease. Power is
transferred through a 4-speed manual gearbox that was just rebuilt
and it shifts super smooth. The bus fires on command, runs strong,
and runs down the road well. Driving one of these, or riding in one
for that matter, will bring you back to a simpler time. A time
where cars had character and didn't all look the same.
This nostalgic bus has a lot of new parts and plenty of extra
original parts (see photos). It also comes with books and shop
manuals. The seats were just recovered and the bus was just
detailed. Tires are new with good tread. Our mechanic has gone over
it and its ready for a road trip, or a business promotional
vehicle. Call or e-mail if interested, or make us a reasonable
offer. Thank you for looking.
