Vehicle Description
This 1959 MG A Twin-Cam is an extremely exciting car wearing a well
documented frame-off restoration. It has taken many show Firsts and
comes accompanied by documents, restoration photos, MG Club
magazine articles, and awards. Orient Red with black leather and
black top, this highly sought after Twin-Cam MGA is a fantastic car
that's ready to drive and enjoy. It's in excellent condition
overall with stunning paint, chrome, and interior. Mechanically the
car is incredibly well-sorted and ready for immediate use. MG
introduced the twin cam MGA in 1958. With 108 horsepower, this
top-of-the-line offering was equipped with Dunlop center lock alloy
wheels and 4-wheel Dunlop power disc brakes. Performance was
increased dramatically with a top speed of 110 mph and many were
raced at tracks around the world. This particular example was
purchased in 1994 by Don Haynam, a well-known Indianapolis British
car enthusiast. Don spent almost a year stripping his twin cam down
to its bare chassis and then building it back up again, fully
rebuilding the rare twin cam engine. Nut-and-bolt restoration in
the 1990s by the late noted MG expert Don Haynam. Restored to a
very high standard, the car is believed to retain its original
engine and is finished in its original Orient Red over black
interior. It is completely sorted and ready to drive. Production of
this LHD Twin Cam was completed on March 31, 1959 in Orient Red
over black. The paint shines nicely despite being almost 20 years
old, evidence of a car that has been garaged and well-maintained.
Much of the restoration work was completed by Nationwide Auto
Restoration in Jeffersonville, Indiana, with most parts sourced
from Moss Motors in California. The engine bay is tidy with correct
dual SU carbs, red block finish and bare metal cam covers.
Steering, suspension, and brakes operate well. Only 2,1111 Twin
Cams were produced, and this one is a very correct example. Offered
in superb condition throughout with 28,716 recorded miles.Price:
