Vehicle Description
We dare you to find a vehicle that can better combine off-road
prowess with supercar presence like this 2011 Local Motor Rally
Fighter. And this fuel-injected beast makes sure that its
go-anywhere personality is far more than just an appearance. So for
those who love a vehicle that's just enough on the right side of
road-legal to have a license plate hanging on it, this is you
limited-edition dream.
This car was designed from day one to be quite different. It's
always been hard to define what a Rally Fighter is because no other
company has built one vehicle that stimulates this much toughness
and sleekness all in the first impression. Tall fender lines,
well-creased flairs, and a smooth profile were all part of the
mission to create a sports coupe with pre-runner credentials. And
more than just designed to look like a lifted trail attacker, this
one was built like a true Baja machine. That's why the sleek body
is a well-crafted mixture of lightweight thermoplastic and carbon
fiber body panels over a tubular steel space frame rigid chassis.
So while you're the most interesting machine on the road, this one
was really built to have its maximum fun when the pavement
ends.
Inside, there's seating for four. But considering that there are
racing harness for everyone, you absolutely know this is set up to
be far more than a commuter machine. Sparco racing seats up front,
a dash-mounted fire extinguisher, toggle switches, and a full roll
cage let you know this one means business. The grippy Momo steering
wheel gives you a fantastic view of the large speed and tach. Plus,
all your essential gauges are laid out high on the dash. The metal
gated shifter means every shift you make is a purposeful one. But
the reason why the Rally Fighter is more than just an off-road toy
is the high degree of comfort that's also built into this
professional-grade interior. You have an air conditioning, power
windows, power locks, electric rear defrost, and keyless entry.
There's an iPod in the center that controls features like the
satellite navigation and the subwoofer stereo system.
Under the hood is a 6.2-liter fuel-injected LS3 V8. This mixture of
small block Chevy robustness with Corvette-level horsepower is the
perfect power plant for this unique beast. You can see that it is
mounted behind the front axle to improve the center of gravity and
also give the front suspension plenty of travel. In fact, when the
adjustable suspension is in its highest off-road setting, the Rally
Fighter has an impressive 18-inches of full suspension travel. The
rear is a Watts-link setup with upper and lower control arms as
well as massive internal bypass/external reservoir shocks. Add in
the Robby Gordon bead-lock wheels and Goodyear Wranglers reinforced
with Kevlar, and you know this one is one trail-ready machine.
Plus, features like the four-speed automatic transmission
w/overdrive, power steering, and four-wheel disc brakes are
welcomed even when you're just driving on the streets.
Few machines are as unique or as capable as the Rally Fighter, and
they were only built in limited quantities by the professionals at
Local Motors in Arizona. So when you get an opportunity to pick up
a ready to run all-around sports machine, you know you need to act
fast. Call now!
