Vehicle Description
The Atlanta Showroom is offering this 1979 Chrysler New Yorker.
This New Yorker sports the 360 V8 and automatic transmission. It
has owner stated mileage and is a great survivor which has been in
a couple of movies and tv shows. The lean burn system has been
removed, carb and ignition system have been modified and rejeted.
Along with other enhancements the A/C has been upgraded to R134A.
The R-body series was a "Pillared Hardtop." It now used the 318 V8;
the 360 engine was optional through 1980. While shorter and much
lighter than the previous generation, these cars still had a big
car look and ride. Hidden headlamps and full-width taillights
distinguished it from its R-body siblings Newport, St. Regis and
Gran Fury. A new "Fifth Avenue" trim package was offered. The
Chrysler New Yorker is an automobile model which was produced by
Chrysler from 1940 to 1996, serving for several years as the
brand's flagship model. A trim level named the "New York Special"
first appeared in 1938 and the "New Yorker" name debuted in 1939.
Until its discontinuation in 1996, the New Yorker had made its mark
as the longest-running American car nameplate. The New Yorker name
helped define the Chrysler brand as a maker of upscale models,
priced and equipped above mainstream brands like Ford,
Chevrolet/Pontiac, and Dodge/Plymouth, but below full luxury brands
like Cadillac, Lincoln and Packard. Options include: AC, power
brakes, power seats, cruise control, power steering, seat belts,
power locks, AM/FM radio, radial tires, power windows, leather
interior. To view the car in greater detail, including 100+ HD
