For Sale: 1972 Ford Maverick Supercharged Restomod in Lutz, Florida
The bold paint, A/C interior, and growl of this 1972 Ford Maverick
Restomod will immediately make you say "Wow!" But it's the
supercharged V8 motor and all the upgrades that go with it that
make this Maverick the true rebel to take home.
Grabber Orange is a terrific color to have on this car because it
is the quintessential way to announce to the world you have a fast
Ford. It also symbolizes what the Maverick really represented.
These Grabber versions were about installing the powerful 302 V8
into a lighter body for outstanding performance, and as we get into
all the details on this one, you'll see it really takes that spirit
to a whole new level. The Mavericks already looked great with
flared fenders, a fastback-style profile, and an integrated rear
spoiler. And the upgraded Grabbers truly looked like the siblings
to the Boss Mustangs with the hood scoops, blacked-out rear panel,
and full black stipe package on hood & sides. Plus, this was built
before new bumper laws, so those bright chrome pieces fit snugly to
the design. The result is a classic Ford that looks great even
without knowing about all the upgrades within.
The interior has been given a major upgrade with Mustang-style
high-back bucket seats that include a sporty Grabber Orange stripe
across the backrest. Plus, this one has plenty of great modern
comfort features, like the armrest center console, cup holders, an
AM/FM/CD stereo, and cold-blowing R134a air conditioning. But from
the moment you get behind the wheel, you know this was built to be
far more than just comfortable. The grippy sports steering wheel,
large AutoMeter tach with shift light, all the right auxiliary
gauges, and the B&M shifter are all clear indications that
you're going to love what's under the hood.
It's hard not to instantly fall in love/lust with the engine bay.
It all looks quite fresh because there was a lot recently invested
in this Maverick. So within the bright orange walls lies a heart
that looks busy with serious power. That's because you're looking
at a younger Ford 302 cubic-inch block that was bored to 331ci
total. And we know you spotted that Vortech V2 supercharger. And
the upgrades didn't end there. The V8 was enhanced and fortified
with the best component, including an E303 camshaft, Trick Flow
aluminum cylinder heads, new lifters, Trick Flow pushrods, forged
pistons, 7/16 rocker studs, Comp Cam roller rockers, ARP bolts,
Cometic head gaskets, Melling high volume oil pump, and MSD
ignition. The supercharger is force-feeding a Demon 750 CFM
four-barrel carburetor and Weiand intake. And it all finishes off
with Hooker long-tube headers that help add a thunderous sound to
the X-pipe dual exhaust. The four-speed automatic transmission has
a 2,500 RPM stall converter to keep you in the optimal powerband,
and that feeds a stout Ford 9-inchlimited-slip rear with a 3.25
gearing. And all this power needs the best in control. That's why
the front has an upgraded to a Mustang II-style setup with tubular
A-arms, adjustable coilovers, newer bushings, and a thick sway bar.
Plus, the rear has Caltracs traction bars. You even have four-wheel
disc brakes, power steering, and BF Goodrich T/As on cool American
Racing Torq Thrust wheels.
Oh yes, this is one amazing Maverick, and it even comes with the
build receipts to prove it. So if you want to get your hands on
this fast custom build that will leave you wanting for nothing, you
need to hurry up and call today!
