For Sale at Auction: 1988 Mercedes-Benz 230 in Scottsdale, Arizona
This 230 GE convertible is finished in Winecot Bordeaux with gray
interior. This rare GE was also outfitted with optional aluminum
wheels, gas mechanical fuel-injected engine, and 5-speed manual
transmission. Originally designed for off-road and safari use, this
all original 1988 Mercedes-Benz G class convertible is powered by a
matching-numbers 2.3-liter 4-cylinder engine paired to the original
5-speed manual transmission. It features part-time 4-wheel drive
with high, low, 2- and 4-wheel ranges. This SUV has the
availability to shift from 2x4 to 4x4 on the go. It has 5-passenger
seating, side steps, rear mount original spare wheel, and original
front and back matching-number lights and windows are all in great
condition. Every year since 1999, this GE convertible was
transported back to Germany for certified Mercedes-Benz service.
Always stored in a climate controlled environment, this GE presents
in outstanding condition, with original paint. This car received an
updated OEM interior throughout with a custom Sonenland soft-top.
It has 84,002 original kilometers (52,196 original miles) from new
(title reads mileage exempt). It was recently serviced and is in
original condition, excluding the period-correct AM/FM radio and
rear tire cover. A copy of vehicle manual in German is also
included.
