1968 Ford Mustang Fastback. This was a 6 year project starting with
a nice solid 1968 'T' code fastback mustang. The car was completely
stripped down to bare metal. All of the body parts are original to
the car except for a new driver's side quarter panel and the
passenger side front floor pan. All of the glass in the car is
original with factory tint except for the windshield which is new.
The Shelby body parts (scoops, deck lid, hood, tail lights and
inboard head lights) are from Tony Branda. The car was
professionally painted with PPG Kona Blue Metallic paint and clear
coated with over the top stripes. All of the chrome trim was
replaced with new. One piece over the windshield was dented when
the windshield was replaced (a new piece will be included with the
car). The car has new '68 Shelby 10 spoke 15' rims and new tires.
The engine is a completely rebuilt 1969 428 Cobra Jet bored .30
over. The engine is balanced. It has a 588 lift cam, police
interceptor intake, adjustable rocker arms, 750 Holley 4bbl, 9
quart oil pan with windage tray. It has new cast iron headers and
magnaflow exhaust. The 4 speed transmission came from a low
mileage, wrecked '68 390 big block Mustang. The rear end is a Ford
9 inch, 3:50 with new posi traction and all new bearings and seals.
The car has new brakes and drums and new heavy duty (for Cobra Jet)
springs on the rear. The front brakes are new Kelsey Hayes power
discs (dual piston calipers with 2 piece rotors). The front
suspension is all new heavy duty 1 inch sway bar with new coil
springs for a cobra jet with all new 'A' arms and bushings. It has
less than 1,000 miles on it since restoration. -Vehicle is on
