This 1989 Dodge Dakota Sport 4X4 Pickup Truck has the 3.9-liter
Magnum V6 engine, The first open American pickup since the Ford
Model T, the Dodge Dakota Sport 4 x 4 Pickup Truck featured a fixed
roll bar and a simple manually convertible manual top. Intended as
a limited production halo vehicle, only 2,842 were built that first
year by the American Sunroof Corporation, which converted them from
standard cab bodies supplied by Dodge. Of those, less than half
were ordered in 4 x 4 specification, with even fewer ordered with
air conditioning, power locks and power windows. Restored less than
100 miles ago, this attractive example features a rebuilt front end
with a refreshed engine and new shocks. With a new tonneau cover
and only 76,000 miles from new, this is a rare collectible truck
from the 1980s, ordered by automotive legend Bob Lutz and sure to
appreciate in the future.
