The Motorcar Offered

Rarely is a replica constructed to the same exacting standards the original, but this 1966 Shelby GT350 is a faithful representation that still manages to incorporate some thoughtful performance upgrades that do not detract from the visual presentation of this compelling package. Built using a fastback coupe that was manufactured in late 1965, this replica almost exclusively relies on the use of correct Shelby components, including a rare NOS factory air conditioning system that was sourced at great expense. The original C-Code engine was extensively modified for even more breath taking performance and features a Holley 600 cfm carburettor, high-rise Cobra 4 BBL intake manifold, Cobra valve covers, competition standard hydraulic camshaft, dual point distributor, high-performance exhaust manifold, harmonic balancer and alternator pulley, maximum efficiency cooling fan and a Flowmaster 2¼-inch exhaust.  A Tremec 5-speed transmission is a worthwhile upgrade considering the engine’s output as are the Wilwood power assisted front disc brakes and Flaming River rack and pinion steering unit. The 9-inch rear axle features a 3.55:1 final drive ratio. Best of all, the appearance is as close as you can get to the real thing, featuring the correct emblems and stripes, as well as a deleted grille and the proper Shelby hood. The rear scoops are functional, helping to cool off the rear brakes, while the interior features the appropriate steering wheel, seat belts and shift lever. As with any labour of love, it would be impossible to recreate this package for anything close to the estimated sale price. Most importantly, with original GT350s approaching the half-million dollar threshold this is the best way to experience the same fun and satisfaction at a fraction of the cost.

Estimate:  $60,000-65,000
