We are pleased to present this award winning 1972 Hurst/Olds Pace
Car Clone. This car comes with the original Build Sheets. History
tells us that the Pace Car was actually developed by Hurst
Performance, and not Oldsmobile. Due to a tragic accident involving
the 1971 Indy Pace car, which was a Dodge Challenger, the major
auto manufacturers were reluctant to provide the pace car for the
1972 Indy race. Hurst Performance stepped up and volunteered to
sponsor the 1972 pace car. Oldsmobile provided the Cutlass Supreme
coupe and convertible, and the rest is history. It was the first
and only time, an Indy Pace car was sponsored by a manufacturer
other than an automobile manufacturer, and first time to include a
major supplier's name in the title. The only color available was
Cameo White with reflective 3M gold stripes that were stickers, not
paint. This 1972 Hurst/Olds pace car Tribute is as close as you can
get to the real thing with all the emblems, stickers, paint,
drivetrain and flag holders. It is a 2017 Hilton Head Concourse top
25 winner in the Crescent awards. This one comes with the original
build sheet. It has a correct 455cid engine, a Turbo 350 automatic
transmission, Power Steering, Power front disc brakes, Hurst
shifter, Ram Air W/25 fiberglass Hood, and dual exhaust. Several
recent updates makes this car a reliable driver. It has a manual
fuel pump with a backup electric fuel pump, electric temperature
controlled radiator fan which keeps the water temp around 170 in
winter and 180 in summer, HEI Distributer, fully functional cold
air conditioning, new high output 110 amp alternator, new 4 core
radiator, new shocks, new carburetor, new dry cell battery and new
air shocks. It is great for highway driving with a 2.92 rear end.
