For Sale at Auction: 1979 Ford Econoline in Scottsdale, Arizona
This van was bought from the original owner who had the 4x4
conversion done at the Ford dealership the day it was purchased in
1979. The engine was also changed to a 460ci at that time and is
backed by automatic transmission. Some of the updates done included
pulling the engine and completely going through it from top to
bottom. It has all new pistons, rebuilt heads, new manifold, carb,
and distributor. The transmission is all-new inside as well with a
little taller gear for towing. It has custom-made bumpers that
started out as Rhino bumpers but were cut and modified to fit. A
custom-made roof rack was made and a motor home air conditioning
unit is housed on top along with a tank for an electric shower.
There are LED lights all over to provide plenty of light. Housed in
the front bumper is a 12,000lb remote-control winch. The interior
is all-new and complete with custom wrap-around sofa and full race
seats with harnesses up front. The fully custom wrapped dash has
all digital gauges and a custom-made engine cover. Hard wood floors
and LED lighting that changes color complete the interior and there
is also a gun rack under the seat. The couch in the rear has a
cushion to make it into a bed and the batteries under the back
couch have their own plug in charger and separate alternator from
the engine. It also has a brand-new exhaust that has cut outs so
you can hear the roar of that fresh engine.
