Vehicle Description
Highlander is a option that gave the car a Scottish plaid kilt
pattern for the seats and also for the front fender chrome id trim
HIGHLANDER/WINDSOR. Car has 22,000 miles, 6-cyl flathead 250 cu.
in. with automatic fluid drive dual range transmission. Reverse,
Neutral, Low 2-range, High 2-range using clutch pedal on floor to
select gear desired. High is used 90 of the time and clutch pedal
is not used in stop and go traffic and only for gear selection.
Work done in restoration- painted RED about 4 years ago for
previous owner who sold it at a estate sale due to illness. New
owner had original radiator flushed and pressure tested, new
coolant, thermostat 160 degrees, radiator hoses and rebuilt
temperature control valve, rebuilt original 40 watt generator and
new voltage regulator adjusted to charge the NEW 8 volt battery in
the 6 volt system. Installed Pertronix pointless ignition system
and new flamethrower coil, rebuilt original carburetor by Rod\'s
Carb Repair of Phoenix. New bulbs. Original interior needs little
work on stitching. Headliner and door panels seem to be all
original. Oil and filter changed 200 miles ago along with oil bath
air-filter serviced. New fuel filter installed and all fluids
checked in transmission and converter to required levels found OK.
