Just over 36,000 Chevrolet El Caminos were manufactured for the
1981 model year. Part of the fifth and final edition built on the
Malibu platform the El Camino was available in V6 and both 305 and
350 cubic inch variants of the V8. Horsepower was slightly reduced
in each engine given the stricter EPA regulations.
Offered is a 1981 Chevrolet El Camino Conquista powered by the
229ci V6 and 3-speed Hydramatic transmission. Painted in
non-original red and white, the El Camino sports a burgundy cloth
interior. Options include tilt wheel, cruise control, power
steering, power brakes, factory AM/FM radio, newer tires, and air
conditioning. The paint is faded, and the interior is stained and
cracked. This fifth generation El Camino represents a solid, easy
restoration project.
