For sale in our Chicago showroom is this stunning silver 1979 Ford
Mustang. Having had the same owner for the last 29 years, this
Mustang has come a long way! The original economical 4 cylinder and
manual transmission were tossed to make way for the behemoth 393
stroker V8 and built C4 automatic transmission. Pumping an
estimated 550+ horsepower, this 13:1 compression motor could move a
house! Helping that monster motor breathe is a pair of Pro Comp 220
aluminum cylinder heads port-matched to a Victor Jr. intake. The
rods and pistons are forged to handle all of the forces of
detonation inside the engine with ease. Roller rockers, chromoly
pushrods, and roller lifters all help reduce friction in the
valvetrain to make this engine as efficient as can be. The C4 was
built to handle all of the abuse, and a 3800-4200 stall converter
was used to keep the engine in its power curve. And aluminum
driveshaft keeps the spinning weight down, and the 8.8" rear end
has had work done to keep it living a long useful life. Sporting a
set of 4.10 gears, this Mustang practically jumps out of the hole.
The entire vehicle was built around ripping down the quarter mile,
from the 8-point roll cage, to the drag-oriented shocks and
everything in between. Turn the key and this feisty Fox body fires
into an aggressive idle, ready to bound down the drag strip, hungry
for victory. This tin-can with an enormous engine is ready to take
you for a ride! Options include: Kill Switch, Radial Tires with
Raised White Letters, Racing Wheels, Alloy Wheels, and a
Positraction Rear Axle. For more information on this beautiful 1979
