Vehicle Description
This is one for the haulers, attention getters, and anyone who
loves unique vintage trucks. After all, how often do you ever see a
1950 GMC 150 series 3/4 ton flatbed on the road anymore? But this
truck is a beautiful and reliable reminder of what an honest day's
work really means.
Do you have a business to promote or just want to make a splash at
car shows? Imagine parking this vintage flatbed at your front door
and/or taking up a coupe spaces at an enthusiast event. People will
marvel at this GMC's well presented condition because most of the
ones from this era were purchased to be lifelong workhorses. It
does have a touch of indulgence with the bright red paint that
looks great against the shining grille and bumpers. But this is a
truck that's still ready for industrial use. After all, have you
counted the lugs in the upgraded alloys yet? The real wood flatbed
look great from the outside, and there are provisions for you to
create your own custom stake sides. So no matter if you want to put
your company's logo on the side, or just want a showpiece to bring
your motorcycle, this is your best way to grab some attention.
Inside is a cab built for long-lasting function. The vinyl bench
seat looks authentic but benefits from a recent re-cover. The same
freshness can be found on the door panels and headliner. It's hard
not to love sitting behind the large three-spoke steering wheel
with the correct GMC logo. But because you still want to use this
one for function, the auxiliary gauge panel is a nice supplement to
the factory readouts.
A great truck motor to have in this one is GMC's 248 cubic-inch
unit, which has earned a reputation for being tough and reliable as
an anvil. While this is not an all-out speed machine, this
inline-six has been given some nice upgrades to give it pep. This
includes a Clifford intake and split manifold to create a true dual
exhaust. But what will really make you happy is the four-speed
manual transmission. Heavy duty GMCs like this one had it as an
option in 1950, and It gives this tough truck a much better defined
powerband. It will get up better from stoplights AND make highway
speeds more manageable. Plus, modern BF Goodrich tires add comfort
and control to the vintage experience.
