The Cadillac Series 62 was restyled and re-engineered for 1961. By 1962, there were six- and four-window 4-door hardtops, a 2-door hardtop and a convertible. Engines remained 390ci V8s with 325hp, and all cars were equipped with an automatic transmission. Four-barrel induction systems were now the sole power choice. Popular options included air conditioning, Guide-Matic headlights and a full suite of power features. A fully optioned car could tip past the $6,000 mark.
