1972 Ford Thunderbird VIN: 2J87N117256 2: 1972 J: Los Angeles, CA
Assembly Plant 87: Thunderbird 2-door Hardtop N: 429cid 4V V-8
117256: Serial Number Body: 65K - 2 Door Hardtop Paint: 6B - Light
Yellow Gold Trim: HA - Black Lamont Cloth and Vinyl Transmission: U
- SelectShift Cruise-O-Matic 3spd District Sales Office: 41 - Axle:
2 - 2.75:1 Exterior: - Light Yellow Gold is the original color.
"Honey Mustard like" is the best way to describe it. Paint is a
B-quality respray. Paint blemishes include some chipping along the
forward hood crease, chipping along the rearward driver door
crease, as well as some overspray on the passenger front fender
emblem. These are shown close-up in the video accompanying the
listing. - Body is in nice shape, with no dents or dings. There is
however some very small rust bubbles forming on the bottom of the
rocker panels, most evident on the passenger side. - Glass is crack
free. Driver window shows some streaking. - Black vinyl top is in
excellent shape. No damage whatsoever. - Wheels and tires are in
nice shape. Front driver rim has a ding in it. Tires are Firestone
FR440s and are in excellent shape, though are likely a bit old. -
Chrome pieces are nice throughout. Front and rear chrome bumper
show no oxidation or dings. Interior: - Black Lamont cloth and
vinyl bench seat is in great shape. There is a missing button on
the driver's seatback, but other than that the seats are fantastic
front and rear. No scuffs, no fraying. - Door panels are in decent
shape. There is a small tear on the driver's door handle. No
kicked-open scuffs or other damage though. - Headliner is nice and
tight - Powered systems are all functional, with the exception of
AC. AM/FM dolby radio, wipers, all lights and signals inside and
out, power windows, fan, heat/defrost. Air conditioning is on R12
refrigerant and does not kick on. - Carpeting is in nice shape. No
significant stains or tears. A set of floormats will come with the
car as well. - Odometer reads 47,992 miles. As it's a 5 digit
odometer, we cannot be positive if that's 47k or 147k. Under the
Hood / Underbody: - Original 429ci 4V V8 and Cruise-O-Matic
automatic transmission. - Car runs and drives very well. It starts
up first turn even in Chicago winter temps, accelerates and shifts
smoothly and without any hesitation, and the brakes are excellent.
Car feels very stable and the suspension is extremely forgiving. As
it sits, this car has no glaring needs. - The underbody is in
decent shape. There's quite a bit of undercoating peeling away,
which makes the underbody look worse than it is. Car is
structurally sound. No significant damage underneath. Car does not
leak. Overall, this is a nice driver-level example in a unique,
original colorway. Please reach out to Jake at 773-267-2684 with
