Vehicle Description
Need a true go-anywhere 4x4 off-roader that's tough-as-nails? Or
maybe you just want to intimidate everyone in the commuter lanes?
Well. You can do it all in this 1990 AM General H1 Humvee that is
registered for road use and ready to roll today.
We don't have to tell you this is a military-grade vehicle. The
sand warfare paint immediately announces this one as a hero's
machine. And while this was built for military duty, the consignor
has gone through the lengthy process to get it registered for
street use (local state statutes may vary.) So we know you're
already thinking about all the places you'll love to show this one
off - from parades to the supermarket. But more than just a
grocery-getter or an attention-grabbing way to promote your
business, just imaging the practical potential of owning a 4x4
built to take on the world. Especially with one that has a large
truck bed and a chassis with a payload capacity large enough to
carry any car that fits back there.
Inside is pure function. After all, if you wanted heated leather
seats and multi-zone climate control, we suggest you buy a more
civilian-grade vehicle. Instead the luxury you get from a Humvee is
knowing you can tackle whatever gets in front of that windshield.
The canvas roof is fully removable, so you can have the meanest
convertible on or off the pavement. The seats were recently
recovered in durable vinyl, and the full instrumentation was built
to be out in the elements, so the fun in this one begins where most
other 4x4 find their limit.
Tilt the hood forward to get an excellent view of the 6.2-liter
diesel motor. This was recently rebuilt around 3,500 miles ago
(there's 33,672 on the chassis.) And because this is a variation of
the motor that GM used for decades, parts availability will
continue to be quite good without having to set foot on a military
base. Diesels are all about torque, and when combined with the
lighter weight of the truck body, this creates the best of the
military breed. We won't pretend you'll win any drag races, but
that's never the point of owning a Humvee. This is true 4x4 with a
reinforced fully independent suspension that has been built to
drive over any obstacle. The big brush guard up front means nothing
gets in your way, and the tall air intake means even deep water
doesn't stop you. Plus, with power steering, an automatic
transmission, and four-wheel disc brakes, you don't have to be made
of granite to drive a vehicle built to bust through granite.
This is not a vehicle for the average commuter. But it's perfect
for everything from promoting your business to forging a new trail
to the hunting camp. We know your mind is racing with all the ways
to enjoy this Humvee, but remember, the only way you get to so all
of that is if you call today!
