THE VEHICLE OFFERED
We like well kept vehicles here at Modern Classics. This 4Runner
fits the bill. It is mechanically sound and ready to be driven in
any condition. First generation 4Runners are becoming collectable
and for a good reason; removable hard top, Toyota reliability and
simplicity, go anywhere capability, and decent economy. This
example lived in sunny Santa Rosa, CA from 1988 to 2011 where it
acquired 248,000 miles under a single owner. Clearly always
maintained it received a nice repaint in its factory color, black,
along the way. As stated it is mechanically sound; starts up
without hesitation, idles nicely, gauges work properly, wipers
function, clutch feels newer with no chatter, lights and turn
indicators work as they should, emergency brake and brakes function
without pulling to the left or the right, and the steering is
centered. The perfect rig for winter, this 4Runner shifts in to 4x4
high or low without flaw when needed and the heater provides high
heat. The rear window was just repaired and electronically winds up
and down. The carpets and original floor mats are in good shape for
their age and help insulate the cabin on those cold winter days.
The 3.0 V6 and manual 5 speed transmission help this truck
accelerate better than the 4 cylinder options yet sip gasoline.
Modifications from stock include newer Toyo all terrain tires on
chrome steel wheels, aftermarket sound system with rear subwoofers,
and a Smitty built rear bumper with receiving hitch. She has
acquired some bumps and buries but hey, she is 28 years old.
However you will be impressed with the condition.
