The Mercury Capri's of the late 1970's and 1980's were always
considered to be the bastard offspring of Ford's Mustang. They were
essentially the same car with a few exterior differences and
badges, but shared just about everything else. This 1983 Mercury
Capri is a true Performance Pony. With an extensive list of
performance parts and Go Fast goodies. The 5.0 is gone and the car
is now powered by a 351 Windsor that is balanced and stroked to 393
cubic inches. Edlebrock Performer RPM Intake, Heads and Camshaft.
Speed Demon 650cfm Carb. 1.6 Roller Rockers and MSD ignition, wires
and Pro Billet Distributor. All of this adds up to producing nearly
400HP to the rear tires. All of that power is transferred through a
Tremec 5 Speed transmission. Full set of Auto Meter Phantom gauges,
even the clock. This is a very fast car and has spent a lot of its
life on the drag strip. All of the suspension is set up for drag
racing, including the Nitto drag radials out back. 8.8 inch rear
end with 3:73 gears. A full list of parts are in the photos. Call
or email with any questions.
