Excellent original paperwork documentation.
Owner #1 was Eugene Barrett bought truck from Mutual Ford , Inc, of
Springfield, Massachusetts on October 7, 1975. This was the first
1976 Ford truck off the assembly line being VIN #00001. The truck
was driven to work at Pratt and Whitney Aircraft in Connecticut
and a coworker scratched the rear quarter on the first day of
ownership. Eugene brought the truck back to the dealer and had
the entire rear quarter painted and vowed never to leave the truck
unattended in a parking lot again.
Eugene passed away October 6, 2009, just one day before 34
years of ownership. As per Eugene’s wishes the truck was started
once a week and driven short distances to keep the truck
mechanically sound. Eugene's wife kept the truck for
another seven years, the truck was sold to Owner #2 in
July of 2016. Driven to a few car shows and put away for the
winter. In the spring of 2017, a similar thing would happen,
the passenger door received a scratch and the truck was sent to
a high quality restoration shop in Worcester, Massachusetts.
Due to an odd state law, the insurance company paid $28K
to repaint the entire truck. It was meticulously taken
apart, repainted in dual stage paint and reassembled
with all new old stock style rubber and hardware.
Now it is ready for its new owner to pamper and love as he did.
