Vehicle Description
Motorcar Studio is pleased to offer this 1980 International
Harvester Scout II Diesel. Clad in Carbon Flash Metallic with
desirable "Russet" plaid interior, it's a sharp truck that never
fails to turn heads. Excellent paint and body with no known rust
issues. New Goodyear Wrangler 31x10.50 tires on satin black cast
aluminum Americans. Updated with round headlights and SS2
grille.
The interior looks great, with seats and door panels finished in
original "Russet" plaid upholstery. Dash, steering wheel, carpet
and headliner are excellent - cargo area is rhino-lined for
durability. All gauges, lights and indicators are working; a modern
AM/FM/CD stereo with Bluetooth, aux input and USB is fitted in the
dash. Air conditioning has been converted to R-134a and blows
cold.
Under the hood is a Nissan SD33T turbodiesel mated to a four-speed
manual transmission. IH never manufactured a diesel engine small
enough to fit into a Scout, so Nissan supplied the engines for
diesel-powered Scouts from 1976 to 1980. Model years 1976-79
received a normally-aspirated diesel; 1980 was the only year for
the turbodiesel.
This truck has an unusually well-documented service history, with
extensive records dating back to the mid-1980s. Lots of recent
service work including a new clutch and new A/C compressor. Runs
and drives very well thanks to power steering and power disc
brakes. For more information about this 1980 International Scout II
