Motorcar Studio is pleased to offer this professionally-built 2001
BMW E46 M3 Touring. BMW made exactly one M3 Touring in-house and
enthusiasts have longed for their own ever since - a few have been
built over the years and well received within the BMW
community.
The owner of this Touring, a friend of ours and owner of a local
BMW shop, built this example as a personal project and has driven
it regularly over the past year. He started with a clean 2001 xi
(all wheel drive) chassis and carefully assembled the components
for a seamless install. The donor 2004 M3 S54 engine had 79k miles
on it and received new rod bearings, Vanos and a valve adjustment
before being installed - it now has 81k on it and that mileage is
reflected on the M3 gauge cluster that was fitted. Low-mileage X3
3.91 diffs were installed and serviced along with a 330xi 6-speed
manual with new clutch. The ECU was sent off for custom programing
and the car has current emissions (call us for more details).
Custom exhaust sounds good without being too loud.
New ASA 19-inch wheels wearing new Firestone Firehawks. Refreshed
suspension with Bilstein
Sports and H&R springs. Brakes are new all around.
Clean CarFax, and although the chassis has higher mileage (200k+)
it shows well. We believe the Orient Blue paint to be original with
the exception of the hood, M3 front bumper and flares which were
recently installed and painted to a nice standard. Interior is
likewise in good condition and has desirable sport seats.
This wagon is fast, sounds amazing and drives well. The ride is
firm but compliant and is comfortable for daily use. All of the
"comforts" including A/C are intact and working. A truly unique car
at home in any BMW enthusiast's collection. For more information
