Vehicle Description
This 1934 Lincoln KA V12 High-Hat Limousine body by Murray Body
Corp has been treated to a high quality restoration, which has been
maintained in very good condition. The High-Hat limousine body was
designed for the gentleman of high social standing who did not wish
to remove his hat when climbing aboard; so the rear compartment is
generously proportioned with additional headroom. Paint quality and
body finishing is very good, and the car is nicely presented with
good-quality chrome accessories. The chauffeur's compartment is
upholstered in black leather as original, featuring beautifully
detailed diamond-pattern wood trim, which has been well-restored to
original quality. Being a formal limousine, the rear compartment
features a divider window, as well as folding jump seats that allow
for two additional passengers. The quality of the upholstery and
finishing is excellent and the car presents in tidy, clean and
attractive order. Lincoln's alloy-head 414ci V12 produced 150hp in
the typically smooth manner of a 1930s multi-cylinder engine, and
it is mated to a 3-speed manual transmission. This example is
well-detailed, showing signs of careful use and regular maintenance
since completion, with period correct detailing and hardware. This
car was awarded an AACA Senior Award in 2012, as well as a CCCA
First Prize, a testament to the quality and care put into the
restoration. The fascinating Murray-built coachwork is certainly a
talking point, while the K-series chassis and powerful V12 engine
make it a great driver's car as well.
